The Rise and Fall of Jesse James by Robertus Love was published in 1925; my copy was re-published in 1990.
It’s an amazing fact that both of the Jameses married, and married well, in the very midst of their careers of outlawry. Each became the husband of a handsome young woman of irreproachable moral character.

Gosh, I don’t remember either of them having wives at all in the Brad Pitt/Casey Affleck movie… terrible how cinema ends up defining our memory for us!
