Opposites attract, unquestionably; there are peaceable, unpredictable couplings of carnivores and vegetarians, dog lovers and cat lovers, spendthrifts and cheapskates. But politics can make people apoplectic, particularly in a climate of partisan sniping and in-your-face punditry from MSNBC and Fox News.
