Taste of Home Cooking School

Posted on

The Taste of Home Cooking School is such a fun event – aside from learning some great cooking tips and recipes, one sees just about every woman and several men who live in our area at this event.  One lady at the cooking school was from Missouri!  [I trust that she was visiting a Seguinite – but who knows?  Did she come expressly for the cooking school??]

There are prizes.

There is food.

There is laughter.

Several organizations have booths in the Coliseum showing their special wares.  Gift and Gourmet not only had lovely items to view and buy, Jamie Dunn (Taste of Home Cooking representative) used cooking utensils from this marvelous shop.  I’m sure that Friday morning, there was a stampede to Mary Reiley’s shop with folks wanting to buy some of these useful utensils (I plan to make a stop there when time permits!).

Mike Heckmann of All Occasions Catering provided food.  The Emcee was our very own Linda Duncan.  It was an enjoyable evening and I came home inspired to spend some time in the kitchen!

Handy Andy donated bags of grocery items (by the way, Handy Andy donates many city functions and organizations; e.g., the grocery store provides hundreds of wieners and hot dog buns for the Cops and Kids event each year).

First United Methodist Church even had a booth with information about Angel Food Ministries.
